4.2.3. Institution has subscription for e-resources and has membership / registration for the following

 

     Our Institution yet has no subscription for E-resources and has no membership/Registration for E-journals, E-Books, Data bases etc. Hence, we are planning to subscribe E-resources, E-Journals, E-Books etc. for the coming years as a future plan of extension facilities of library. Now we have already sharing a link with National Digital Library established by IIT Kharagpur by our teachers and students.

Our institution yet not has the facility of remote access to library resources for the students and teachers. Our management and curriculum committee have the plan to install the facility of remote access for students and teachers as they have to access anywhere inside the college compound or outside the college compound. For that purpose we are planning to install INFLIBNET software in the library as earlier as possible as a future planning in relating to the extension facility of the library.

Our college Library installed private software from the beginning of our academic year started on 2009. It is partially functioned as the part of our library day-today affairs. The software including the details of all books, journals and periodicals, detail of students etc. It also helps to issue and return the books for students and teachers. After 10 years, we installed KOHA Library management software and migrated all existing data in the old private software to the new library software KOHA, the world’s first open source library system, fully featured, scalable library management system. It includes: OPAC (Unlimited access).

               Printing function for barcode labels and reports virtual book shelf.

               Barcode and spine label printing.

               Branch libraries management and items transfers

               Budget Management

               Integration with RFID based Library automation system.
