4.4.2 Systems and Procedures for maintaining and utilizing Physical, Academic and support facilities.

          Our institution has proper systems and procedures for maintenance and utilization of infrastructure facilities. Staff committees are responsible for proper maintenance and utilization for the same.

·       Attenders are responsible for the general Maintenance of all whole college, staff members and student members are also responsible for the proper utilization of infrastructure facilities.

·       Each and every Lab has its own in charge from staff and student representative who keep proper care and maintenance of the each and every equipment. Each and every Lab has attenders for the proper maintenance of computers in computer Lab, audio-visual, Language Lab, Digital Panel screen in all classrooms, psychology lab, Science Lab etc.

·       Instructions are displayed outside the Lab especially in the library for the proper maintenance and utilization of books, furniture etc. Electrical equipment’s like computer, fan, light, lab etc. are switched off after use and classrooms, lab & library are locked in the evening. Students are instructed to take care of the college property.

·       Computers are protected with password and strictly used only for academic purposes. No other matters should be downloaded outside the curriculum. All systems should be shut down after use.

 

·       All systems, Electronics, CCTV’s, software  used for office purposes, Accounting purposes, Library automation etc. are maintained on the basis of annual contract properly.

·       Purchase requirements of fixed assets, furniture & equipment books & journals for library, Lab requirements are done by staff –in charge forwarded to the management committee through Principal and done after necessary review. Maintenance of the same done properly on d in a year.

·       The Library is fully responsible to the Librarian and rules & regulations maintained by the librarian for the proper functioning of the Library. The area of library is strictly silence and must be disciplined. A shelf is placed outside the library for keeping bag & belongings of students and staff. The journals and periodicals are regularly renewed once in a year. A small amount of time should be imposed in case of lost, damage, misuse of books etc. Budget is allocated for purchasing books for library every year as per requirements. Stock verification is done on every year.

·       All Labs are properly maintained by the staff in charge. Stock registers and log books are maintained separately in all labs. Timely purchases of consumable and Non-consumable items are done by teacher-in-charge. Stock registers for purchase and utilization of consumable are maintained. Stock verification of all labs are done at the end of every academic year.

·       Sports ground is maintained regularly under the supervision of Physical Education Teacher. All the courts, nets, equipment’s etc. are checked regularly and repair the same, if necessary. Sports equipment are purchased as per requirement. Students use the sports, gym and games equipments of the Physical Education teacher.

·       The institution has provided one period in a week for Library, all Labs & Physical Education.

·       There are 2 laser printers  - one in the office and second in the library both for the use of administrative and academic purposes

·       2 Photocopier machines which has the facility of 20 paper per minute – one in the office and other in the control room

·       Collar mic (1 No) Code Mic (2 Nos) and codeless mic (1No.)with amplifier are used by the faculties for interacting with students in general classes

                     

The various audio visual facility materials in our institution are:

     Our Institution yet has no subscription for E-resources and has no membership/Registration for E-journals, E-Books, Data bases etc. Hence, we are planning to subscribe E-resources, E-Journals, E-Books etc. for the coming years as a future plan of extension facilities of library. Now we have already sharing a link with National Digital Library established by IIT Kharagpur by our teachers and students.

Our institution yet not has the facility of remote access to library resources for the students and teachers. Our management and curriculum committee have the plan to install the facility of remote access for students and teachers as they have to access anywhere inside the college compound or outside the college compound. For that purpose we are planning to install INFLIBNET software in the library as earlier as possible as a future planning in relating to the extension facility of the library.

Our college Library installed private software from the beginning of our academic year started on 2009. It is partially functioned as the part of our library day-today affairs. The software including the details of all books, journals and periodicals, detail of students etc. It also helps to issue and return the books for students and teachers. After 10 years, we installed KOHA Library management software and migrated all existing data in the old private software to the new library software KOHA, the world’s first open source library system, fully featured, scalable library management system. It includes: OPAC (Unlimited access).

4.1.1. The institution has adequate facilities for Teaching- Learning. viz., classrooms, laboratories, sports field, fitness center, equipment, computing facilities, sports complex, etc. for the various programme offered

Physical facilities

     Our college provides adequate physical facilities to students and faculties. The college offers 7 B. Ed programmes (two batches) as two year course.

There are 4 digitalized General Halls with internet facility (3 permanent and 1 portable). There are 14 ICT enabled classrooms - 5 classrooms in ground floor, 2 classrooms in 1st floor and 7 classrooms in 2nd floor for 7 options (2 batches).

There is a well-equipped computer lab with 12 computers with internet facility for students and faculty.

We provide a well-equipped language lab to help our students to develop their communication skills in languages with internet facility.

An audio visual lab with smart board, OHP, LCDS, one slide projector etc. with internet facility provided to students and faculties with seating capacity of 100.

The college library well stocked with 6127 books (approx. 5000 titles) we subscribed 15 journals, 6magazines and 4 newspapers. The library has KOHA Library management software since 2019, besides there was private library management software using from the beginning of the college 2019.The library is enriched with 250 VCD's. Library has one reading hall for students and faculties with 50 seating capacity. One computer with internet facility and a photocopier machine also provided.

A well-equipped psychology lab provided with all facilities for students to research in various sub discipline of psychology. The lab has facilities to conduct various types of tests, activities, CD's, instrument boxes, various photos of psychologists.

Our institution have well equipped and fully furnished Natural Science lab.  It consists of micro scopes, specimens, permanent slides, charts, models, reagents, chemicals, test tubes, conical flasks etc.. In our lab, we maintained a stock register and lab manual.

A physical science lab is also functioned in our institution with fully furnished and well equipped with different optical instruments, electrical instruments, mechanical  instruments, electrical instruments, mechanical instruments, chemicals and reagents, test tubes, conical flasks, charts, models etc..

In our institution there is a conference hall, a multi - purpose hall, a control room for university exams, 2copier machines, a WI- Fi enabled auditorium with a projector with  seating capacity of about 200.

 

Our institution provided the following facilities in the field of sports, gym and games   

for the physical and mental health of students.

Fitness center: Five junctions with weight training facilities.

Sports complex : An open hall with roof (41.20 m*30.50 m) for assembly, playing shuttle badminton and other physical activities.

Football, volleyball, volleyball net, handball, air pump, measuring tape, tennis kit, shuttle racket, cock and net, caroms board with coin, chess board with chess, men, Relay baton, weighing machine, shot-put (3 kg& 4 kg) Discus (1kg) javelin (600g), flag and post etc.
